Sr. Maite Konmawi, originally from Tanna Island in Vanuatu, is the youngest of five siblings. She joined the Congregation of the Servant of the Holy Spirit in 2006 and has since served in Melbourne, where she completed a diploma in childcare and a bachelor’s degree in education at ACU.
While studying, she assisted at St. Anne’s Parish as a teacher’s aide and visited the sick. She later spent three years in the Philippines for a missionary experience.
Sr Maite joined the Ingham community as a member of the Congregation Missionary Servant of the Holy Spirit in April 2023. She serves as a Pastoral Care Worker for three days at the Ozcare Magdalene Facility and two days at our parish office in Ingham. Her role at the office includes preparing children for the sacraments and teaching in a state school on Fridays.
